I know you are probably asking yourself who on earth would harm such tiny, fairy-like creatures, but sadly, millions of mosquitoes are injured or killed every year by humans.

Our goal at the Mosquito Protection Club is to educate people about how to protect mosquitoes from these violent deaths and to help rehabilitate injured mosquitoes at our sanctuary.

Below you will find easy ways that you can help mosquitoes. I have provided lifesaving tips, instructions for building your own mosquito habitat, a list of plants to avoid, and a poll to find out how mosquito friendly you really are.

How You can help our little fairies - The Mosquitoes

    * Blood Donation - It only takes a few drops to save a life.
    * Avoid Using Deet Based Products
    * Place Several Water Collecting Containers Around Your House.
    * Keep Your Doors Wide Open.
    * Leave the Tent at Home and Camp Under the Stars.
    * Learn Mosquito First Aid.
    * Throw Out Your Citronella Candles and your Antimos
    * Teach Your Children to Live in Peace and Harmony with Mosquitoes.
    * Build a Mosquito Habitat in Your Own Backyard.
    * Make Sure Your Rain Gutters are Sufficiently Clogged to Collect Water.
    * Dig Up and Destroy Any Citronella Plants Found In Your Yard.
    * Do Not Let Larvae Eating Fish Live in Your Backyard Ponds.
    * Do Not Replace Ripped or Damaged Window Screens.

How to Build a Mosquito Habitat?

This Is A Really Fun Project to Do With Your Kids!

Here are some great ideas to make a backyard mosquito habitat that will provide loving homes for thousands of itsy bitsy, adorable mosquito larvae. Imagine what fun your kids will have watching them grow and sprout wings.

    * Find any containers that will hold water as these will serve as incubators for your baby mosquitoes. Neat, huh?
    * Carefully place the containers around your home. Areas with tall grass and weeds provide excellent protection from wind.
    * Be sure the containers will collect water from rain, dripping faucets and sprinkler run-off, providing the perfect place for the female mosquito to lay her eggs.
    * You won't have to wait long for the excitement to begin because the larvae hatch from their eggs within 48 hours.
    * The rewards will be plentiful. Female mosquitoes lay between 100-300 eggs at a time.
    * In as little as 14 days you can have an entire mosquito colony thriving in your own backyard!
    * Don't worry about your mosquitoes leaving your carefully structured habitat. They usually remain within 1 mile of their breeding site so you will get the pleasure of their company all summer long.
    * Enjoy!!
    * *Helpful Tip: If you simply do not have a container to hold water in you can still provide a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes by keeping an area of soil damp and moist. They will love it!
