i'm starting a business with my partner in 2009 and we're looking for a bank to open a corporate account.

so far, all the banks that i've come across require at least 10k deposit if we do not want be charged monthly fee.

are tehre any other alternatives?

also, which banks are better for small start up. pls share pros and cons.

thanks in advance for ur help!

Hello there,

Standard Chartered has an account with no minimum balance, S$3,000 initial deposit and a per-cheque fee of S$0.20 (or S$0.30, I can't recall).

OCBC has a SME account that has no minimum balance for first 6 months, and has more facilities like ATM card.

if I remember correctly, UOB account can be started with a $500 or $1000 initial deposit. but of course they incurred monthly charge if it falls below a certain value (can't remember, but its not that much...) and cheque book is included with no additional charge per piece.

can try looking into their website for details. hope its still around Smiley
