"We are only doing a small business. Not necessary for a lengthy business plan. It's a real waste of time". These kind of talks are most often heard among the entrepreneurs of today. Creating business plans might be taken as something burdensome in view of the lack of time and financial means and is only seen as needed by large organizations only. If you are determined to be an entrepreneur, you must be far-sighted and have a vision. You must think big, start small (have big ambitions even though you are starting small). Here is where you need planning of the direction you want to take to arrive at your intended goals. The business plan could also act as a document when dealing with investors or venture capitalists. Actually, a business plan need not be thick and you need not elect a specialist or consultant to complete it. However, your job might be easier if you can refer to more experienced people. Every business plan should encompass a) Business type b) Market demand c) Competitive analysis d) Marketing strategies e) Management details f) Financial projections (Cash-flow) No matter what planning you are making, you need to take note of these points: a) Long and short term goals b) A detailed business model c) Flexibility in implementation strategies d) Challenges and the way to overcome The business plan might not come true 100%. The proposed details will change according to situations. With constant observations, a few adjustments can be made to ensure a smoother business experience to achieve the intended goals.
Do you know? Someone without directions is like a boat without an oar. - Thomas Carlyle
