Entitled Money Bank, "Helping you to help yourself", the first of three financial literacy lesson organised by Jalan Besar Community Centre, supported by Central Community Development Centre and Project:Senso was attended by an overwhelming attendance of about 30 people from all walks of life.  From budding entrepreneurs from Singapore Management Unversities to a 80 year old man from a senior citizen home eager to start his own business, the lesson was held in Kallang Community Centre within Jalan Besar district.

The event was started by Abu who shared with the participants on the ABCs of being an entrepreneur, sharing certain key lessons on being an entrepreneur. The session led to a lively exchange between the 30 odd entrepreneurs who were touched by Abu's personal story and were also motivated by his persistence and determination despite all his challenges in being an entrepreneur until he is now one of the millionaires of Singapore. To know more about the talk, you can attend Abu's talks through his website .

Some of the attendants felt that the event is too short and would be glad to attend another session. Most of them are serious about starting a business despite the tough times now which proves a bigger challenge. Project:Senso in collaboration with Jalan Besar Community Centre will continue organising events like these for the benefits of the middle to low income earners in Singapore. Register as a member of Project:Senso if you want to be updated of these events.
